Else is an AI prototyping platform that lets product managers and designers build working prototypes directly on their real product codebase, test with real users, and hand engineers a production-ready pull request — no throwaway sandbox, no sprint wait.
It was built because every existing prototyping tool assumes you are starting from zero. Most product teams are not. They have a codebase, a design system, and an engineering team that merges pull requests — not Figma links. Else is built for that reality.
Jakob and Paul met at Parsec, a cloud gaming platform that exited to Unity in 2021. They started Else out of A16Z Speedrun after watching the same gap — validated prototype, nothing shipped — show up in product org after product org.
