Jakob is CEO at Else. He runs product, writes the code, and shows up in customer Slacks to wire Auth0 into a Bitbucket repo. The version of Else that exists today — the one that opens a real PR against a real frontend repo and gets merged with zero engineering changes — is the one Jakob is building, hands-on, with the first design partners.
He moved from Sweden to the States in 2003 to study game development. He was the first engineer at OpenFeint, an in-game social network that grew to a couple hundred million users and was acquired by GREE in 2011. He then joined Parsec at ~12 people, helped pivot it from a consumer game-streaming product into a SaaS tool for game developers, and exited to Unity in 2021. (Parsec is where he met Paul.) Else came out of A16Z Speedrun. Jakob builds and rides motorcycles; favors long-distance tours.
